About this Episode

At a town hall featuring presidential candidate Sen. Cory Booker, a woman named Rachel asked him about guns, claiming that she is not free because she has to fear gun violence in schools and places of worship.

Sen. Booker's response was one of codifying her fear, and declaring that he will take the fight to the NRA.

Tony Katz goes about answering the question. Instead of telling Rachel that she should be afraid, Tony gives her a better way to look at her life, to turn her fear into empowement and the opportunities she has to control her destiny.

If you want a society that can guarantee your safety, you will never have freedom. Government can not guarantee security. The American citizen is the first line, and the last line, of defense.
